chapter 12

  1. What many of us discussed at the beginning of the book – the difference between desire and wish, seems to be blended in this chapter. As Noelle, states, “. . . a wish if a form of focused attention. When we take the time to consciously articulate a wish, then we will begin to notice things we haven’t noticed before. . . . When we consciously articulate a wish, then we also give ourselves a kind of permission to receive the things that we desire.” In the end, we may have all been participating in the practice of wishing, just in our own unique ways.

  2. the process of wishing is mysterious to her even after writing the book - but in the process she discovered a great deal about herself and how she relates to those around her
