After reading this chapter I kept repeating the phrase, “I am alive with you in the moment, and I treasure you.” It was Noelle’s thought after meeting with her friend George who was dealing with a serious illness. During their time together they chose to focus their conversation as if the illness did not exist. Perhaps we all should focus our thoughts on being “alive in the moment” rather than what is wrong with the moment.
I re-read the end of the book again this weekend. I had been looking for Noelle to fullfill her wish of finding the spiritual community she had lost when her marriage ended but I realize that her soul wish had more to do with healing her soul and that I beleive happened in this chapter. I think it happened when she was again at Spirit Rock and she spoke of her fear of dying in a state of total fear.
