We are getting closer to finishing this book. Let's finish on a strong note. Kick it in to the finish line.

  1. I liked Noelle's musings on Grace from it's root of the greek charis to it's use today. She was definetly in need of grace at that point in the book - in her search for spiritual renewal and feeling that "her soul was sick." But this is the part of the book that I struggle with as she makes her trip to The City of Ten Thousand Buddhas with the thought that 'you must look for God exactly there where you lost him' - I didn't get the sense that she found what she was looking for - even though she had some kind or relevation - and her third wish was to connect with a spiritual community - did anyone else feel that she found one?

  2. I thought she was disappointed in that she found the place where she expected to find what she was looking for and it did not happen. But what she did realized was that one has to be satisfied and happy within before you can find community. Perhaps it is similar to looking at life with the glass half full versus the glass half empty. When you start to look at the positive in your life, you open yourself up to the possibility of experiencing more happiness.
