wishing and being a wish grantor...and Noelle says their are two basic personalities to be found among wish grantors - but I guess you will have to read it to find out - but I do like her premise that as a wish grantor - if one hadn't intervened - would the wisher have discovered the gift of their own patience....
Earlier in the book Noelle talked about the seesaw effect of a positive experience followed by the waiting for the negative experience. That thought returns again in this Chapter in her section on expecting a “debt” for a granted wish. Her comments regarding drawing a line in the sand or experiencing a loss in order to move forward are thoughts I have heard from several people who were faced with these type of situations. I knew many people that were forced to find another job when Preston Trucking closed a decade ago that today will tell you it provided them career opportunities that had never been considered. That “loss” turned into a gain of new opportunities.
