Chapter 6: And the beat goes on...

I heard someone say that their first wish was, "To be able to wish."

  1. so half way through the book and we are at part two "raking it in" !
Noelle is suprised that wishes are coming true and muses on wishing as being
    magical thinking -
"where human power and powerlessness meet"
adaopting an attitude that is confident and humble - isn't that a form of faith in itself?

  2. Peggy, I like your comment about a form of faith itself. And I wish to clarify about the readings from last week - it wasn't wishing - it was Psalm 90:17 (made me go back and read the reading!) "May the graciousness of the Lord our God be upon us, prosper the work of ouor hands; prosper our handiwork." Interesting tie in to me.

  3. The concept of the form of faith itself is interesting. When pondering on the conversation of magical thinking and the discussion regarding the rituals and ceremonies of the past, I thought about the rituals and ceremonies that we have in our faith – baptism, confirmation, marriage, Lent, Advent, etc. Even though we know these are repetitive in nature, we anticipate the event in perhaps a sense of renewal.
